Build Recruitment are working with a Public Sector client to make the key appointment of Head of Sustainability for a 3 – 6 month contract £300 - £350 umbrella PAYE per day.

Due to a significant and positive period of change my client requires a Head of Sustainability to help mobilise and deliver the Estates Sustainability Strategy and to ensure that the key objectives are achieved.

Reporting in to the Deputy Director of Estates The Head of Sustainability will lead the development, communication, and delivery of the sustainability works within the strategic planning process.

Leading initially a small team, the Head of Sustainability will also ensure that the department’s sustainability staff, and operational resources are appropriately scaled, aligned, and coordinated with other pan institutional sustainability resources to support, enable, and respond to projects, programme or initiatives identified or prioritised by the executive team.

The Sustainability Manager will be responsible for embedding the sustainability strategy and vision and develop co-lateral strategies i.e., biodiversity, carbon management etc. with SMART goals to integrate sustainability cross functionally across the estate portfolio.

About you:

It is expected that applicants will have:

Minimum Master’s degree level (or equivalent experience) in a property related subject.
Equivalent relevant proven and tested experience in an appropriate sustainability or ESG related professional role.
Working knowledge of local, regional, and national emerging sustainable business strategies, life cycle assessments (LCA), ROI analysis, and other key sustainability tools and techniques.
