Reporting to the Office Manager the Stock controller's key responsibility are to continuously review all warehouse stock and trade operative van stocks to improve the number of jobs fixed first time from van stock, and subsequently improve operative capacity and customer satisfaction.
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
- Prioritise and review all operatives' stock usage by day, to determine the order of van stock reviews
Negotiate amendments to current quantities with the trade operatives.
Analyse data on van stocks and measure improvements of jobs completed from van stocks by the operative following reviews. Reporting findings to the office manager.
Liaise with Planning Co-Ordinator's to schedule in reviews.
Liaise with the Fleet Manager for any changes to operative vehicles.
Conduct full van stock audits recording differences and replenishing to the correct stock levels.
Report ant significant stock variances to the Repairs field manager and office manager.
Liaise with Warehouse manager to pick any required van stocks or remove stock not required from vans.
Liaise with the warehouse manager to source and stock any newly required van stocks that were not previously listed.
Review measures over time for % of repairs completed from van.
Prepare new operative van stock.
Highlight frequent tool hire items to the supply chain manager on order that those tools can be purchased.
Assist with responsive operative order requests raising purchase orders with suppliers.
Works with warehouse manager to ensure full availability of materials are in stock at the distribution centre.
Monitor stock systems information and analyse discrepancies, reporting issues to the warehouse manager.
Ensure distribution centre orders placed with suppliers are monitored and are delivered on required dates.
QUALIFICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS:
Qualified to minimum GCSE C in English and Maths.
PC literate especially in Excel.
Product knowledge of Trade materials would be desirable.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS :
Stock control within a busy distribution centre
To be able to analyse / manipulate data
Experience of working in a customer focused environment, with a proven ability of delivering a high standard of customer service.
H&S knowledge and a good understanding of health and safety issues.
Experience of providing a customer facing, front line service in a busy environments whilst maintaining a courteous and helpful manner..
The ability to develop and project a positive image of Great Places through personal, written and verbal skills.
Ability to carry out basic administration and able to use some IT systems / programmes.
Ability to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner when working under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
Good written and verbal communication.
Effective liaison with staff/other stakeholders to give information/find information/resolve problems.
Ability to provide assistance and guidance to customers.
Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative.

Have a non judgmental approach and respectful of others
