£55,000 - £67,000 + Car/Miles

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a senior project manager to work client direct for a brilliant facilities/ building services team. Our client provides maintenance work across the south of England and are currently looking to add a senior project manager to their team! The role will offer a good work/life balance schedule and has great job security. The senior project manager will be expected to travel between sites.

Job duties for project manager:

  • Acts as the operational lead and focal point for their defined region
  • Working with the Head of Projects, develops and agrees local strategy to form a contract delivery plan for all expected workload.
  • Monitoring the delivery project works to ensure quality, programme and compliance targets are met.
  • Delivers these elements within their own delivery plan to achieve the current year's performance
  • Inputting into and updating local FMR to inform and develop future pipeline with Head of Projects and PMO.
  • Manages activities to support operational delivery and growth for their respective area.
  • Ensures client security considerations are in place, agreed, reviewed and monitored, security being at the heart of the Establishments priorities.
  • Maintains effective internal and external client or user relationships within own area of responsibility
  • Identifying additional tender opportunities and procuring services in the most cost-effective way
  • Offering innovation and being flexible in approach to ensure best possible use of client resources and available funding
  • Works within clear budgetary guidelines, as set by commercial, PMO , Head of Projects and stakeholder.
  • Translates plans and requirements into realistic budgets and targets for the sub-teams within their remit
  • Responsible for the financial performance of projects within their region.
  • Works with commercial team in coherent way to capture costs and adjudicate tender analysis
  • Contribute to budget planning, scoping, costing and change control, installing financial acumen to PM’s and the wider team.
  • Directs high profile stand-alone projects, controlling costs and programme accordingly.

Skills and Knowledge for Project Manager:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent work experience are required.
  • Member of a Professional Body with Intermediate Level Qualifications is desirable.
  • Recognised Project or Programme Management qualification (e.g. MSP; PRINCE2; APM) desirable
  • Possesses expert knowledge of a project-based business area, running high volume low value work programmes up to £10m per annum
  • Track record of success in supporting a similar contract / business unit and providing support to a professional function
  • Lead the delivery of projects which meet stakeholder requirements within their financial year.
  • Professional adviser to stakeholders to maximise asset performance and value for money
  • Develop and present business case and regular performance reports
  • Production of detailed tender specifications
  • Proactive communicator, adept at communicating to stakeholders who possess a range of skills and experience.
  • Management of designers and technical consultants in the development of complex schemes
  • Chairing contract and project review meetings
