I'm currently looking for a Senior Maintenance Operative to join a leading service provider for a position based in Ilford working in the public sector. The position is primarily to deliver a quality maintenance service to their NHS client. There may be some travel to other local NHS sites which may be required on occasion.
As part of the role you will be hands-on in a multi skilled role performing daily maintenance duties as part of the PPM and reactive maintenance programme which might involve some general maintenance works to include changing of light fixtures/light bulbs, carpentry, replacing door handles and locks, painting and decorating, some basic plumbing (changing taps, washers). general wear and tear maintenance (filling of holes/retouching, light plastering).
In addition to day to day maintenance duties, the preferred candidate will act as focal point for external Sub-Contractors organising and arranging planned maintenance visits where necessary, ensuring health and safety compliance and that works are carried out satisfactorily, within time scales and the site is left clean and safe. You will also co-ordinate site based activities with our contact centre team making sure all jobs are reported and assigned to our in-house team of engineers correctly.
Normal working hours are 8am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. There is also the participation in an on-call rota system (which offers the opportunity to increase your earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs). A van will be provided so a full UK drivers licence is essential.
This is a varied role which combines supervisory and maintenance duties with excellent opportunity for personal growth and development within their growing NHS Maintenance business.
