Reporting to the Director of Store Development, the Senior M&E Project Manager (Mechanical bias) will be responsible for the successful delivery of numerous mechanical and electrical projects ranging in value from £50k - £10m. Typical projects will include HVAC, plumbing, public health, sprinkler / hydrant, chilled water and LTHW systems.

The Harrods store development team work to deliver a seamless transition of building services and design with every store innovation project. As the Senior M&E Project Manager you will play a pivotal role in partnership with the Director of Store Development, Senior Project Managers, Concessions, Engineering and Maintenance, Fire and HIT teams. Working together, you’ll lead and implement mechanical, electrical and public health systems on projects from design and planning through to implementation and evaluation. About you

You’ll be an experienced Mechanically biased Building Services Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health services related design or project management role. You’ll be accustomed to partnering with a variety of specialist professionals to scope and deliver M&E projects from start to finish and have a passion for being the dynamo in those relationships. You’ll need to be professionally qualified in construction with an engineering related degree, HND or equivalent with a clear understanding of the principles of good design. You’ll pride yourself on the standard and reputation of your work, determined to exceed expectations and make the impossible happen. You’ll be highly organised with excellent communication skills, able to exhibit with tact and diplomacy at times of conflict or ambiguity.

What to expect

As the Senior M&E Project Manager you will be responsible for the design and development of all Building Service Systems across Harrods and concessions projects, from inception to completion.  This fast paced and exciting role carries the responsibility of all Harrods projects with a technical hand in their delivery. Throughout this lifecycle you will manage all Building Services, Lighting, Fire and AV consultants in the delivery of all services and liaise with the security, engineering, HIT, Fire and Health & Safety Departments to deliver a high quality and maintainable product. You’ll drive and deliver the Harrods store refurbishment, in which you’ll be responsible for ensuring all new installations meet the Harrods requirements and shop fit guidelines as well as ensuring the project handover between consultants and store operations is a smooth transition.

In addition to the refurbishment project, you’ll analyse new schemes presented by designers and architects and assemble the designated design teams for supplier funded, capital funded or combined funded projects. You’ll build proposals for financial review and carry these through for approval as well as managing the settlement of final accounts and invoices.
