I am delighted to be working with a worldwide market leading industrical group in High-end furnishings, luxury furniture and project fit outs for hotels, boutiques, cruise ships and offices to make the key appointment of a Purchaser/ Buyer.
Based in central London, my client would like a Purchaser who can speak both Italian and English, with the perfect Purchaser having experience in this industry (although not essential) and must be flexible for international trips.
The Purchaser/ Buyer:
The role includes management of the purchasing of finished furniture, accessories, components, and raw materials for the companies of the Group; active participation in negotiations with suppliers; research of new suppliers in Italy and abroad; continuous monitoring of well-established suppliers. The majority of the suppliers will be located in Italy, therefore is required an advanced knowledge of the Italian language. It will be required a short trip to Italy (3-4 days) once a month.
The candidate, preferably a graduate in Management Engineering or with an equivalent combination of education and experience, has gained at least a short experience in similar roles and must have a strong aptitude for negotiation and for managing commercial relationships; will have a good knowledge of the English and Italian language and will willingness to travel both in Italy and abroad are necessary. Previous experience in the furniture or construction sector will be a plus but not essential.
