Build Recruitment are working with an NHS Trust in the Midlands to source an Interim Portering Manager on a minimum 3 month contract. £18.57 - £22.67 umbrella PAYE per hour.

Reporting to the Head of Facilities Management, the Portering Manager with have responsibility for the operational management of a comprehensive facilities services and functions, delivered in house. This will include having responsibility for the Portering teams, managing this large staffing group to ensure a high quality, efficient and cost-effective service is delivered to the users.

The Portering Manager will have line management responsibility of a large and dispersed portering team, including supervisory grades across the portfolio, ensuring that staff rotas are organised to reflect the workload/demands of the service, within the budget allocation for the department, advising the Facilities Manager of any variations from agreed financial performance.

The Portering Manager will additionally have responsibility for all portering equipment including but not limited to; wheelchairs, radios, mortuary trolleys and tugs to ensure they are maintained and fit for purpose, and any maintenance contracts are in place and reviewed regularly. As well as advising the Head of Facilities Management on recommendations for purchase of equipment and quotations for services as required for the department.

About you:

It is essential that applicants have:

  • Management Qualification or equivalent experience in FM at NVQ Level 4
  • Formal training or equivalent experience of Food Safety up to Level 4
  • COSHH, Infection Prevention Control, Health & Safety and IOSH Management of Risk
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience of working at an operational management level in a similar field within the NHS or private sector
  • UK Drivers License

Due to the dispersed nature of the property portfolio, my client is looking for a well organised and thorough Portering Manager who possesses excellent communication skills, reporting and demonstrates a collaborative style of working.

This position will require candidates to have a full UK driver's license and will be subject to an enhanced DBS.
