Build Recruitment have exclusively partnered with a local authority in London who are currently looking to expand their Legal Disrepair team with the addition of four Legal Disrepair Officers on full time, fixed term contracts for 12 months. They are specifically looking for candidates with a strong repairs, housing management or resident liasion background.

The Role

  • To successfully investigate and manage various legal disrepair cases made against the council
  • Using your knowlegde to analyse and specify repairs 
  • Carry out pre and post inspections on properties raised with disrepairs claims
  • Responsible for works up to £100k
  • Prepare schedules and tender reports, providing recommendations on contract specifications
  • To prepare cases for court and working with the legal disrepair surveyor for court proceedings
  • Supervision of the contractors to carry out an effective disrepairs service

The Person

  • Due to the nature of this role you must be minimum HNC building studies or equivalent. (Extensive experience in the same or similar role)
  • Ideally have an understanding & working knowledge of the disrepair protocol
  • Strong experience of contractor management in a maintenance/Housingenvironment
  • Have a strong ability to build relationships with tenants
  • Experienced managing & monitoring budgets
  • Able to write reports
