My client, as reputable construction company based in Truro is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Project Manager to join there trem on a FT permanent basis. This role will offer 40-45k per annum with a company car, mileage and pension.
The requirements are as follows:-
• Project manage on a range of contract sizes and complexities • Be an approachable, friendly, proactive member of the Site Team(s) • Prepare for and contribute in Site meetings, with both internal team members and external professionals, contractors and Clients • Be a confident, senior member of the Team with the ability to work to your own initiative • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation • Form contract budgets from pricing documents; calculating total profit/loss forecasts • Ensure that the business is not at risk through inappropriate pricing • Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies and value engineering exercises • Calculate total project profit/loss forecasts - monitoring and updating regularly • Provide and monitor cashflows for projects; • Maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work • Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly • Produce detailed progress reports and follow up on points requiring action • Prepare, monitor and report on the Contract Programme • Prepare interim and final valuations based on progress • Manage the procurement of subcontractors, including obtaining agreement on rates, measurements and placing subcontract orders • Ensure maintenance of strict subcontract payment controls, evaluating contract works, variations, materials, contra charges and claims • Select and/or source construction materials alongside the Procurement Manager • Reviewing, recording and authorising subcontractor payment claims • Preparation and compilation of subcontract documentation with appropriate orders, e.g. proof of appropriate insurances and risk assessments • Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as Site Managers and Site Engineers
Deliver projects on budget • Be comfortable working on your own as well as part of a small team • Have excellent Knowledge of JCT contracts • Experience in luxury dwellings is desirable • Be confident in leading and contributing in meetings • Experience in Excel, Word & Microsoft Project
