Salary: £26,000-32,000

Location: London (site based role - projects throughout London)

Sector: Construction / Social Housing Planned Maintenance

Build Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety assistant  / SHEQ Advisor to support the company SHEQ policy on various small and medium construction sites scattered throughout London.

Main Objectives:

  • Reporting to the SHEQ Manager on a daily basis;
  • SHEQ audit of every operational site every month;
  • Production of a Monthly report for the SHEQ forum;
  • Monthly support visit of all operational sites;
  • Ownership of, and delivery against, company SHEQ targets;
  • Assistance with annual ISO auditing;
  • Assistance with the production of safe systems of work;
  • Demonstrate company ethos in SHEQ activities;
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR policy;
  • Support to other business Departments.
  • Be compliant with the company vision and strategy and be an ambassador for both
  • Delivery of the company SHEQ objectives
  • Compliance with ISO clauses when auditing
  • Delivery of audit regime across the business
  • Live the company values, demonstrating them in the way that you work with people, our staff, customers, clients and members of the public.
  • Be aware of the services provided by the company
  • Report any opportunity for additional works or opportunity to line management
  • Highlight any improvements we could make to capture and shape any existing for future opportunities.
  • Audit of operational sites
  • Production of monthly bulletins
  • Attendance and participation of SHEQ forums
  • Site Safety Tours with Site Managers
  • Support the site team in all aspects of Health and Safety
  • Escalate any health and safety concerns to the SHEQ Manager
  • Be punctual for working hours and attending meetings allowing sufficient time to arrive in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monthly report to SHEQ Manager
  • Update of near miss and toolbox talk registers
  • Update of Health and Safety auditing application
  • Proven experience as a SHEQ Advisor
  • Knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
  • Competent with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain Health and Safety topics
