We supply candidates from executive to operative level, and are currently looking for Head of Delivery and Aftercare for a Social Housing Provider in Greater Manchester.

 

The Role:

Reporting into the Director of Development you will be part of the Senior Management team responsible for the Delivery & Aftercare of the Associations New Build Developments.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Taking a lead role in developing, implementing and being an ambassador for the development strategy
  • Leading, developing and motivating the Delivery Team, providing professional leadership with a focus on providing high quality developments that meet the needs of customers
  • Maintaining a strong awareness of the external environment, particularly in relation to the housing and development market and identify opportunities in line with strategic priorities to inform senior level decision-making
  • Developing strategic partnerships with external agencies such as investors/funders, construction companies, consultants and other organisations, to further the strategic aims of the Trust
  • Responsibility for providing detailed leadership on construction contracts, performance of contractors and consultants, construction methodology, risk and delivery solutions
  • Ensuring compliance with best practice, legislative and regulatory frameworks and leading on compliance in relation to construction/site health and safety and Homes England
  • Managing the delivery of all active developments, ensuring they meet all relevant performance indicators, particularly in relation to time, cost and quality
  • Working in close collaboration with other internal departments to deliver a coherent and high-quality service that meets customers' needs
  • Establishing and managing budgets for Delivery projects, using professional experience to maximise resource capacity and generate income into the Trust in line with the business plan targets and development appraisals
  • Leading the Delivery and Aftercare Team to ensure schemes are built to the highest standards and where issues occur pre or post completion these are dealt with in a professional and timely manner that meets customers' needs
  • Leading the development consultation process to ensure residents, stakeholders and partners (during the pre-commencement and on-site delivery phases) are involved from scheme inception through to the end of defects process.
  • Leading on the delivery of social value to enhance neighbourhood development and support local communities

 

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience of working for a Social Housing provider or Housing developer delivering new build projects.

It is essential that the candidate has the following:

  • Degree or equivalent in a Housing, Development or Construction field.
  • Experience of leading a high performing delivery/construction and After Care Team
  • Proven experience of leading and motivating teams of development staff in order to meet defined objectives or targets
  • Experience of developing and managing budgets and forecasting
  • Thorough understanding of legislation, regulation and good practice relating to property development and construction
  • Understanding of development feasibility appraisals and the impact that construction assumptions and performance has on financial viability;
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and customers
  • Experience of managing of developing and leading teams and people
