The Role:

My client is one of the UK’s largest construction and property services company where social value and sustainability has been a core principle over the last 100+ years.  They are now seeking a Head of Decarbonisation to establish and roll out end-to-end solutions for their public sector customers. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the decarbonisation agenda and great commercial, supply chain and delivery insight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the establishment and roll-out of this exciting and new opportunity
  • To develop and continually improve an end-to-end decarbonisation plan for our customers.
  • Work alongside other colleagues and key teams to create and develop a pipeline of decarbonisation work across a variety of sectors and to create unique funding models for the delivery of decarbonisation solutions.
  • Establish and manage professional relationships with external consultants / parties to support the delivery of this service.
  • Support the creation of a supply chain / delivery structure to support in delivering these works in an efficient manner.
  • Work alongside the Sustainability team to leverage the benefits of a platform to evaluate the future performance of existing assets against future climate scenarios and future performance.
  • Take the lead on the development of all-inclusive solutions for their customers on individual programmes / projects, including scoping challenges / briefs and developing innovative solutions.
  • Gain an articulate market insight to support strategic business decisions.

Qualification and Experience:

  • An experienced and proven expert in the field with a great understanding of the decarbonisation market that can deliver change
  • Clear understanding of the customers’ requirements, estate investment processes and sign off procedures.
  • Knowledge of funding parameters in this market.
  • Someone who is eloquent and a competent presenter, being able to influence at all levels.
  • Experience of working with housing associations/local authorities/public sector customers
  • Experience working in a variety of real estate sectors
