Head of Building Services (M&E)
Based in Stratford or Sidcup
Competitive salary depending on experience, plus £1,300pa Essential Car User allowance
This is an exciting new opportunity within the Building Services team leading and managing a team of gas, mechanical and electrical engineers and coordinators. You will be responsible for managing the delivery of the servicing contracts through external contractors and designing/ preparing specifications for replacement installations to ensure full compliance with building services legislative and regulatory compliance across housing stock.
You will have expert knowledge in the servicing, repair and replacement of electrical installations. You will be required to manage staff carrying out the contracts of the external contractors. You will also actively assist in the contract management processes to engage and carry out the various contracts e.g. domestic and commercial electrical installations, fire alarm, smoke ventilation, electrical systems, controls, electrical testing, electrical heating door entry, access control including motorised gates, barriers and shutters and solar installations etc. You will assist in the monitoring of these contracts, identify issues and action remedial measures to ensure high level contract compliance and resident satisfaction. You will also need to demonstrate an understanding of performance management to ensure that quality and value for money is achieved at all times.
You will manage the new asset adoption team and sponsor the creation of our new asset management database within Keystone. We are working towards modern methods of maintenance, including condition based maintenance. You will have knowledge of building services with a broad understanding of design, operation and regulations including energy management for compliance with current requirements. You will promote the development of staff and the progression of our new graduate development programme.
