My client is a widely respected construction and engineering organisation who provide a range of consultancy services to clients throughout the UK and overseas, due to continued growth over the past year and a number of key project wins they are now looking to build on this current growth with the addition of a Bid / Proposal Writer to join their established team in Edinburgh. The proposal writer will preferably have experience of health and safety within the construction sector and a sound knowledge of the construction processes to contribute to my clients expanding activities in the sector. Candidates should have excellent English and writing skills and the ability to prepare high quality documentation. The successful candidate will have a flexible approach and have a good eye for detail.

Role:

•             Assessment and clarification of client requirements

•             Identification and resolution of contractual issues

•             Preparation of fee proposals

•             Co-ordination with team on client interface and proposal preparation

•             Maintenance of construction fee / project databases

•             Maintain / develop company proposal templates and procedures

•             Internal reporting of fee proposal performance

•             Assist with client file and manual preparation

Qualifications / Experience:

•             Experience of cost estimating in construction, health and safety or consultancy

•             Good track record of document writing and spreadsheet work

•             Preferably experience in CDM and/or health and safety

•             Professional membership of Construction or Health and Safety institution or equivalent (desirable)

Personal Attributes:

•             Good communicator with commercial awareness to handle client interface

•             Excellent understanding of English & writing skills for proposals / reports

•             Good spreadsheet skills with a meticulous eye for detail

•             Strong team player with good coordination skills

•             Well organized, enthusiastic and flexible in approach
